Panama City Beach's Bud Light Great American Blues Festival Set to Launch

(PANAMA CITY, FL) — The first-ever Great American Blues Festival is bringing in eleven blues favorites, including Royal Southern Brotherhood. The band was nominated in 2011 for The Blues Foundation’s ‘Best Blues Rock’ award, and won 2010’s Blues Music Awards. Also playing will be the Legendary Blues Hall of Famer Joe Louis Walker, who has four Blues Awards and twenty-two albums to his credit. Another heavy-hitter performing at the festival, with thirty-eight albums and over 45 years to their credit is Canned Heat.

The infamous Jimmy Thackery and the Drivers will be playing the festival. Thackery is known in the blues community as a guitar god, originally playing with the Nighthawks. The list continues with 2012 BMA winner Biscuit Miller & The Mix with performances both days. Honey Island Swamp Band, winners of Best Roots Rock at the 2012 Big Easy Awards. Also playing are T.C. Carr, Betty Lou Fox, and The Homemade Jamz Band, an award-winning internationally acclaimed blues band composed of three siblings from Tupelo, Mississippi. 2013 International Blues Challenge winner Selwyn Birchwood, and Big Llou, voice of BB King’s Bluesville on Sirius XM will complete the lineup.

The festival is also hosting a Harley Davidson BBQ Challenge, which includes twenty professional teams. GABF is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) benefit festival, with proceeds from the festival going to benefit local charities.
