The Mojo Roots storm the Blues Top Five

The Mojo Roots - Thirteen Shades of Blue
The Mojo Roots - Thirteen Shades of Blue

The Mojo Roots’ album Thirteen Shades of Blue raised for the fourth week straight, achieving #1 status in the Blues Top Five this week. The stark combination of soul, slide, harmonica prowess, and swampy Missouri blues has created a loyal and vocal fan base for the band. Bobby Messano fell to teh #2 position, while Dana Fuchs, the smokey, soulful vocal master who portrayed Sadie in the hit movie Across The Universe, made a rapid ascent up the chart, peaking at number three on the Blues Top Five this week.

The Mojo Roots’ climbed to #1 fro last week’s #2 position, while Bobby Messano, who held the #1 position for two solid weeks, dropped to #2. Dana Fuchs shot up to #3. Dynamic and wildly talented siblings Trampled Under Foot shot to the #4 position, and Ana Popovic, who has consistently proved her staying power in the top ten, secured the #5 position. Entertainingly, and in a first for American Blues Scene’s Blues Top Five, the Mojo Roots and Trampled Under Foot appeared on stage together recently.
