The Mavericks’ longtime saxophonist Max Abrams has released a new single, “Harvest Moon,” available today on all streaming platforms. Reimagined with purpose, Abrams recorded the track as a tribute to Raul Malo, the band’s incomparable frontman and creative heart.

“All proceeds from streaming on all platforms will go to the Malo family to help pay for Raul’s continued care,” Abrams shared in a heartfelt post on Facebook. “There’s no middleman, no email address. Just supporting him.”
Abrams hopes that fans will not only listen but share and add the track to playlists, amplifying its reach through the algorithms that power streaming platforms. “If you share it with a friend, or add it to a playlist, it tells the algorithm to share it with others,” he explained. “In short, people we don’t know and might never meet will support Raul without even knowing they are doing it.”
Calling it “the first idea,” Abrams expressed hope that this project will inspire more creative ways for the Mavericks’ community to give back to the artist who has given them so much.
“‘Harvest Moon’ was one of my favorite songs to play with The Mavericks,” he added. “I meant my version as a tribute to Raul, and I hope we can use it as a tool to support him and his family.”
The single is available to stream here.
