Following their recent powerhouse single “Do It! To It!”, Lockport, NY rock trio Handsome Jack return with their new single “Let’s Go Downtown,” premiering exclusively today on American Blues Scene ahead of the full release from their forthcoming album Barnburners! (out this winter via Alive Naturalsound Records).
Part strut, part shimmy, all heart, “Let’s Go Downtown” is old-school boogie at its most unruly and impossible to resist. Jamison Passuite’s soulful vocals and guitar work set the pace, backed by Joey Verdonselli and Bennie Hayes keeping the groove tight. The trio turns up the volume on Barnburners!, their energy as at ease in a smoky juke joint as it is filling a lively, crowded club.
Of the track, Passuite tells us: “Every now and then everybody needs a moment to be themselves and wreak some havoc in their own way to their heart’s content. ‘Let’s Go Downtown’ is a rallying cry to let loose and do what feels good. So go ahead and boogie on.”
