Robin Trower’s path to becoming one of rock’s most expressive and soulful guitarists began in the ’60s with The Paramounts and later Procol Harum, but it was stepping out on his own that allowed his distinctive, blues-soaked voice to fully emerge. After leaving Procol Harum, Trower formed the Robin Trower Band and released Twice Removed From Yesterday in 1973—a confident solo debut that hinted at the power and direction to come.
That promise was fully realized a year later with Bridge of Sighs, the album that cemented Trower’s reputation as a guitar great and brought international success, reaching No. 7 on the U.S. Billboard charts. Over the next several years, the band delivered four consecutive gold albums and a legendary run of live performances that established Trower, bassist/vocalist James Dewar, and drummer Bill Lordan as one of the era’s most formidable power trios.
Now, Trower marks the 50th anniversary of another defining chapter with the release of Live! on April 3 via Chrysalis Records. Originally issued in 1976, the album was recorded at Stockholm Concert Hall on February 3, 1975, capturing the Robin Trower Band at full throttle, with Trower at the height of his solo powers. Due to the limitations of vinyl at the time, only seven tracks from the show appeared on the original LP. For the first time, this anniversary edition presents the complete concert—newly remixed and restored from the original multi-track tapes.

The Live! (50th Anniversary Edition) includes five previously unreleased tracks from the Stockholm performance, finally revealing the full original setlist. The recording highlights the electrifying chemistry between Trower, Dewar, and Lordan, widely regarded as one of the finest live lineups of the period. The expanded set features searing performances of fan favorites including “Too Rolling Stoned,” “Bridge of Sighs,” “Day of the Eagle,” “Rock Me Baby,” “Lady Love,” and “Alethea,” now sounding clearer and more powerful than ever.
Available on 2CD, 2LP, and digital formats, the release includes both the new 2026 remix and the original 1975 mix. The physical editions are housed in a deluxe hardback media book featuring new liner notes by David Sinclair—drawing on interviews with Robin Trower and Bill Lordan—alongside previously unseen photographs from the era. The audio has been expertly remixed by Richard Whittaker and fully approved by Trower himself, with mastering by AIR Mastering.
Fifty years on, Robin Trower Live! remains a testament to intensity, soul, and precision, and this expanded edition finally reveals the full scope of a Stockholm performance that captured a power trio at its creative summit.
