Born and raised in Gilbert, Arizona, Lindsey Stirling has exploded onto the music scene with a style and energy entirely her own. The violinist, songwriter, and dancer blends classical, rock, and everything in between, and the Arizona Financial Theatre crowd experienced another chapter in Stirling’s one-of-a-kind musical journey.
With a sold-out show in front of her Arizona fans, Stirling proved why her live performances have earned such a strong reputation. If you’ve never seen her live, prepare yourself—she doesn’t stop moving from beginning to end. Combining ballerina-inspired moves, leaps, tumbling, and incredible violin playing, this girl brings it. Add in a massive production featuring lights, video screens, flares, and a two-story stage, and you have a performance that delivers from every angle.
Stirling opened the night with “Kashmir,” a Led Zeppelin cover that warmed up the crowd before she shifted into high gear. Her dancers matched her intensity throughout the performance, adding another impressive layer to a meticulously choreographed production. Even a Harry Potter-inspired moment found its way into the set, adding another unexpected twist to the night.
The second time seeing Stirling live, I still wasn’t sure which performance was better. Just when it seemed like she had reached her peak, she raised the bar again, closing with a powerful tribute to Charlie Daniels and “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.” The classic song was a fitting way to honor the Tennessee legend, and including it in her set was a classy move that showed her appreciation for the artists who came before her.
Throughout the night, Stirling blended musicianship and showmanship while taking time to acknowledge fans in the pit area, including what appeared to be family members. It was a memorable night and another reminder of why Lindsey Stirling continues to stand out as an artist who refuses to stay in one lane. The sky’s the limit for this hometown talent, and it will be exciting to see where she goes next.
