A dedicated blues fan has a tendency to drop everything when a great blues festival rolls around, and we know our priorities! We’re making the trip down to the King Biscuit Festival, in Helena, Arkansas this weekend!
We’ll be covering the event and checking out the Lionel Young Band, Buddy Guy, Lee Pons, Mike Zito, Cee Cee James, Bobby Rush, T-Model Ford, Hamilton Loomis, and dozens of other exceptional acts! Sunday, we will be covering the annual Pinetop Perkins Homecoming at Shack Up Inn outside of Clarksdale, Mississippi. This year’s event will be especially bittersweet, as the legendary Pinetop passed away earlier this year.
As usual, we’ll be spending a great deal of time in the Blues Bayou Cafe across from the main stage, and we’ll be giving away free blues t-shirts, bumper stickers, and koozies… so be sure to come find us!
From Thursday through Sunday, we will be sending up-to-the-minute reports, quick interviews, and pictures of all the festivities to our Facebook Page, so be sure to come by and “like” it to experience the (distant) second best thing next to actually getting out there!
