We’ve just received word that blues Hall of Famer Hubert Sumlin, like so many of his peers, died without the financial wherewithal to take care of his own funeral and burial expenses.

According to the Blues Foundation, several thousand dollars have been raised as more friends and fans of Hubert are coming forth now. In lieu of flowers, his family has asked that donations be made to the HART Fund designated for “Hubert Sumlin.” Any excess funds will remain in the HART Fund to help the next bluesman or woman.

Please consider donating to one of the worthiest causes in the blues.
