Janiva Magness - Love Wins Again

Janiva Magness has been bringing her unique flavor of blues to the world for more than two decades now. As those who have seen her perform live will attest, there is no deficit of crowd excitement and enthusiasm when she passionately serves up her vocals. Then too, Magness always has a stellar band backing her. Always.

Janiva Magness’ twelfth release Love Wins Again, is sure to please long time fans as well as draw new ones. From the moment listeners press play, they come alive.  The title track, “Love Wins Again” is an uplifting song that sets the mood for the album.  “Your House Is Burnin’” is another favorite of ours, and we couldn’t help but hear a tad bit of a James Brown feel to it, especially with the horn section in the background.

Other tracks we enjoyed were a John Fogerty hit, “Long As I Can See The Light.” Magness does a beautiful job on this classic, and there’s no doubt she owns this tune when performing it live.  It’s almost as if Fogerty wrote it for her.  “Moth To A Flame” has a raw blues feel to it and is sure to be a favorite.  “When You Hold Me” is a slow blues number that will have fans swaying along to the music from start to finish.

Pick up Love Wins Again at a show or online soon.
