Langhorne Slim has released a new take on his single “Rock N Roll,” collaborating with Lockeland Strings, the Nashville-based community arts organization that partners with local musicians to reimagine their songs alongside a string quartet.

Alongside the release is a live video featuring a 10-piece band, filmed at Wilburn Street Studios—the same Nashville studio where producer and arranger Jordan Lehning helped craft the original track.

“Rock N Roll” will appear on Slim’s forthcoming album, The Dreamin’ Kind, out January 16 via Dualtone Records. The song is currently #36 on the AAA CDX radio chart and #24 on the Americana Radio Singles Chart.

The Dreamin’ Kind marks Langhorne Slim’s ninth studio album, with the Pennsylvania-born, Nashville-based singer-songwriter plugging in an electric guitar and leaning fully into his longtime love of bold, larger-than-life rock & roll. The album was produced by Greta Van Fleet’s Sam F. Kiszka, who also contributes on multiple tracks alongside bandmate Daniel Wagner.

“When I’m at home, I’m usually playing acoustic guitar on the couch, and I don’t have much opportunity to plug in and rock out,” Slim explains. “Working with Sam and Danny gave me a chance to get loud… It reminded me of when I was real young, and I’d go to New Jersey and watch my cousin rehearse with his garage-punk band in his basement.”

In February, Slim will kick off his nationwide US headline tour in support of The Dreamin’ Kind. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit his website.
