Joyann Parker doesn’t flinch on her new single, “End of the Line,” premiering today exclusively at American Blues Scene. Its guitar intro nods to Southern rock while remaining contemporary, leading into Parker’s soulful vocals and a first look at her forthcoming album, Life Lines, due March 27, 2026.
Lyrically, “End of the Line” navigates closure without assigning blame. “It’s time to surrender / we want forever, but we just can’t stay together,” Parker sings, moving through the end of a relationship with honesty. Reflecting on the message, she adds, “What may seem like the end of the line isn’t always the end. Instead, maybe it is a doorway to a fresh start, a part of a bigger story of redemption.”
Produced alongside Kevin Bowe, the track features Parker on lead vocals and guitar, with Mark Lamoine (guitar), Tim Wick (keys), Chris Bates (bass), and Bill Golden (drums, background vocals).
Parker has steadily built her place in the modern roots landscape, drawing from blues, gospel, R&B, and vintage Americana. Her previous releases, Out of the Dark (2021) and Roots (2023), both charted on the Billboard Blues Albums chart, with Roots debuting at No. 10, highlighting her growth as an artist.
