Nate D. Sanders Auctions will offer a Grammy won by Koko Taylor. The auction takes place May 28, 2026, with bidding beginning at $8,000.

Taylor, whose raw and powerful vocals earned her the enduring nickname “Queen of the Blues,” was nominated for 11 Grammys over the course of her storied career. This singular honor came in 1984, when the Recording Academy recognized her contribution of “Wang Dang Doodle” to the Blues Explosion album with the Grammy for Best Traditional Blues Recording.

Beyond her voice, Taylor is celebrated for her electrifying stage presence and her refusal to soften her sound or persona for mainstream crossover appeal — a creative integrity that has only deepened her legacy over time.

Accompanying the Grammy is a second award bestowed upon Taylor: the Chicago Blues Legacy Award, presented “in recognition of significant contributions to the presentation of the Blues tradition.”
