Let’s get into the Christmas blues spirit today! Christina Aguilera and Dr. John play the blues! It may seem counter-intuitive to relate a pop star like Christina Aguilera to the blues, but most people who’ve heard her sing should be able to identify strong blues roots. And who are we to say who can and can’t play the blues, anyways? We all get ’em! As a little Monday morning bonus, Christina shares her warm thoughts about blues just before the song.
“Hearing the blues taught me all about singing from your soul… Not just hitting the notes, but digging deep and really feeling a song. I want the kids out there to know that the blues should be celebrated and honored.”
