American Blues Scene is LIVE from the Juke Joint Festival. We’re at the Delta Music Experience Headquarters at the Little Pink Guesthouse listening to the Delta Blues Museum Band! This year, the festival has a large number of stages, almost all on front porches and sidewalks, giving an authentic down home experience.

Featured artists at the Juke Joint Fest are among the best in the world — including Robert “Wolfman” Belfour, “James “T-Model” Ford, Fiona Boyes, Robert Kimbrough, L.C. Ulmer, Jimmy “Duck” Holmes, Terry “Harmonica” Bean, Reverent Peyton’s Big Damn Band and many others.

Clarksdale, Mississippi is located in the heart of the Mississippi Delta, on the crossroads between Highway 61 and 49. The town is the benchmark of blues tourism, with the Delta Blues Museum, Rock & Blues Museum, plentiful shops, festivals, Red’s Juke Joint, Ground Zero Blues Club, Club 2000, and many other blues attractions and juke joints in the area. The art-filled community is a southern gem — having long lost most of it’s major industry, the town embraces the many thousands of fans that make the pilgrimage every year.

Music is in the air and the sidewalks. We’ve been thrilled to speak with artists and fans alike — despite the official American Blues Scene tent blowing away and minor technical difficulties! Up next: Robert “Wolfman” Belfour and R-Model Ford.
