TMZ is reporting that blues legend B.B. King was rushed to a hospital in Las Vegas near his home due reportedly to a diabetes -related emergency. King has lived with diabetes for some time and has often suffered complications.

King’s rep told TMZ that the king of the blues remained hospitalized at the center. Following a highly publicized on-stage fall in Chicago and several critical show reviews, King cancelled all remaining 2014 shows.

The world-renown bluesman was even featured in the just-released current issue of American Blues Scene Magazine alongside Brandon “Taz” Niederauer, passing the torch to the next generation of bluesmen.

As more information becomes available, this article will be updated.

UPDATE: King’s daughter Claudette told the Los Angeles Times that her father is doing “much better.”
