Goose brought the party to downtown Phoenix and rocked the Arizona Financial Theatre with a three-hour show that might have gone even longer if not for city curfews. The high-energy jams, powerful light show, and incredible musicianship kept over 3,000 fans fully entertained all night.

I’ve watched jam giants like The Dead and the Allmans work their magic. Goose may be from a different era, but there’s a spirit in their sound that those legends would surely recognize and respect. Rick Mitarotonda on guitar and vocals, Trevor Weeks on bass, Cotter Ellis on drums, and Peter Anspach on keys, guitar, and vocals proved they belong in the jam world. These guys really meshed, and it showed; most of the crowd stood and danced the entire night, backing every moment of the performance.

The energy never let up. Song to song, this was a party and a half with good times all around. With Mitarotonda leading the way, each member took turns adding something of their own, connecting with the crowd’s vibe and building something bigger together. Formed in Connecticut, their indie-rock sound has found a home in the jam scene, and they’ve earned a place among names like Trey Anastasio.

Catch these guys on the road; they’re touring throughout the year with plenty of festival dates. This is a band made for the jam circuit. Check out tour dates and news here.

Phoenix-based photographer. With over 1000 shows under my belt I would say music festivals are always my favorite to cover. The amount of music can be overwhelming, but that's when I'm in my peaceful place.
