Buddy Guy Is Headliner for 2015 Chicago Blues Festival

(CHICAGO, IL) – Blues fans, the word is out on the street. Buddy Guy will headline this year’s Chicago Blues Festival in Grant Park. This 32nd annual festival promises to be an exceptional music experience, and boasts an impressive lineup. In addition to Buddy Guy, those scheduled to perform include Toronzo Cannon, the Taj Mahal Trio, Shawn Holt & The Tear Drops, Johnny Rawls, The House Rockers, and Billy Branch and the Sons of Blues, with special guest Eddy “The Chief” Clearwater.

Other great artists performing this year are Clarence Carter, Mary Lane, Nellie Tiger Travis, John Primer, Lurrie Bell, Cash Box Kings, Studebaker John and the Maxwell Street Kings, and many more.

This year’s festival will also play host to a Willie Dixon Centennial Tribute, and a Muddy Waters Centennial Tribute.

The Muddy Waters tribute will showcase the talents of Bob Margolin, Mud Morganfield, Big Bill Morganfield, John Primer, Rick Kreher, Bob Stroger, Kenny “Beedy Eyes” Smith, E.G. McDaniel, Barrelhouse Chuck, Jerry Portnoy and Paul Oscher.

The Willie Dixon tribute will feature Billy Branch, Keshia Dixon, Tomiko Dixon, Bobby Dixon, Freddie Dixon, Alex Dixon, Cash McCall, Sugar Blue, John Watkins and Andrew Blaze Thomas. Also taking place is the “Celebrating Centennials of 1915 -2015” event, honoring Honey Boy Edwards, Brownie McGhee and Johnny Shines, including a Round Robin with Bill Sims, Jr., Paul Kaya, and more.

The festival will unfold in Grant Park June 12th through June 14th.
