Today, we’re going to feature Boo Boo Davis, a modern Mississippi delta bluesman. Born and raised in Drew, Mississippi, deep in the delta, he worked in the cotton fields and learned to sing from the other sharecroppers.

This week we celebrate Riley “Blues Boy” King, the undisputed king of the blues, in honor of his birthday on Thursday. B.B. King will be 86 years young!

Before Beverly McClellan ever stepped foot on L.A. soil, she had already put out five albums of soulful and heavily blues infused music. We’re celebrating a birthday today — that of the vastly influential guitarist and harmonica legend Jimmy Reed, who’s amazing music has influenced rock in an irreplaceable way.
