Today is Election Day! And Patti declares, “Don’t forget it! Use your voice! Vote!”

A video of Patti Smith and longtime bandmate Lenny Kaye has come to light. The two delivered an impromptu rendition of their classic protest song “People Have The Power” to early voters on the streets of New York City.

The video was shot by Zoe Leonard and shared by the Joy to the Polls campaign.

Singing to voters in the streets is so punk! We love @thisispattismith bringing people power to the polls with this impromptu performance in NYC earlier this week.

You don’t have to be the Godmother of Punk to surprise and delight voters in long voting lines! How are you bringing #JoyToThePolls on Tuesday?

Watch Patti and Lenny below, and don’t forget to make your voice heard.
