The album’s even-dozen tracks feature 11 originals penned by Taylor Scott, plus a scintillating cover of Sleater-Kinney’s “Good Things.”

McConnell has a way of taking familiar stories––often with biblical roots––and revealing what they say about all of us now.

“This is the first record we’ve made where, when I listen to it, it puts me in a specific place,” explains Trucks. “It puts me in a zone and hits some raw nerves.”

Lenz’ new album occupies a unique space that finds her blending the sounds of the two roots genres while also incorporating atmospheric pedal steel and reverb to create an at times noir-oriented vibe.

Solid Bronze’s founding members are Ian Everett and George Miller, who composed these songs as bass and drums duo, using naked rhythm as the focus and cornerstone in the recording process.
