Casebeer's first introduction to music was Elvis. Like many of his generation he grew up loving roots based sounds and his first introduction to the blues was through the bands that are considered classic rock now. He has a deep love of the blues, loves to talk about it, loves to write about it and loves to watch it live on stage, with or without.a camera in his hand.
Nakia is the Austin-based blues singing rocker that gained national notoriety on NBC’s smash hit The Voice. We caught up with Nakia just when he was hitting the road on The Voice tour.
We all know Ana can play. We all know she can sing. As if she has something to prove, she absolutely tortures the fretboard on “Unconditional” and she belts out tune after tune. A seasoned veteran now, she’s been playing since she was 15, after years of watching her highly recognized guitar / bass player father Milutin jam almost nightly, she picked up the tool that would forge her career. Popovic has clearly developed into quite a player and all around musician, proving that she can easily adapt to many musical situations. Ana steps out of the box on a number of occasions,…

Marc Benno has released another album “I Got It Bad” to add to his already bulging body of work. According to my calculations this is the 18th album released by Marc Benno. He has been giving the music world his Texas-flavored blues for over 40 years now. A phenomenal, multi-talented musician, Marc has played with some of the greatest artists of our time, including Eric Clapton, Leon Russell, Lightning Hopkins and many others. In 1971 Benno was called on by psychedelic rock greats The Doors, who were looking for someone to play a bluesy, Texas styled guitar on the sessions…
The party starts as soon as you look at the cover of the new CD from Roomful Of Blues. Come to think of it, I think I voted for this cover design on the Alligator Records Facebook page a few months ago. Hook, Line & Sinker is an assortment of twelve songs from the likes of Little Richard, Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown, Floyd Dixon and others. Pulling double duty by producing and playing some very solid guitar is long-time member Chris Vachon. This album gives him plenty of room to show off his skills and he takes full advantage of it.…
