Chloe Kay was moved to write the track after Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble’s iconic drummer Chris ‘Whipper’ Layton recounted a story to her during an interview for ‘ABS’ about him and Stevie overcoming challenges together to make it in time to one of their concerts.

World Premiere Track From Blues Hall of Famer Johnny Shines “The Blues Came Falling Down” From 1973 Live!
On May 3rd, 2019, Omnivore Recordings will release ‘The Blues Came Falling Down – Live 1973,’ an album of previously unheard performances by Shines recorded at Washington University’s Graham Chapel in St. Louis.
Beginning in January, Omnivore will roll out four various-artists volumes, collecting for the very first time anywhere the audio history of Ru-Jac Records.
