Jesse Dee is a soul singer from Boston. Yes, a soul singer. There is really no other term for what he does.

He’s been called a “virtuoso vocalist.” He is notorious for his relentless touring schedule. His blues is tinged with soul, and his brand of soul is infused with blues. His harp playing has been called “insanely good.” He has been nominated for nine Blues Music Awards.

In a lot of ways, ‘Til Your River Runs Dry is a very personal album. Burdon looks at those that are gone, and himself as well. He also looks at the world around him. There is a host of good material here.

This album is set to late ’40s – early ’50s style (sometimes referred to as “post war”) blues. The sound quality and production are good, and the level of musicianship is high.

This album is at once subtle, classy, well executed, and well played. It is a cut above. Perhaps the best thing about The Best of Don’t Call Her Larry Blues Mix is that it is a whole lot of fun.

This is no simple stuff. Excellently arranged and produced, not a party CD, but for something smaller and more intimate, this CD is a hit. So buy yourself a copy and have some fun.

TSOJB’s last outing, Good Thang, was a great mix of blues tinged, soul and funk influenced joy. A Sunshine State of Mind, on Yellow Dog Records, is TSOJB’s 5th release. This album is a huge leap forward; it is more focused, concise, and much, much tighter!

While his music is full of hooks and potential single ipod fodder, the body of work consumed in it’s entirety is when it is at it’s best. Deep, Deep Blue is the full meal deal with dessert!

Better For You, the second album by Canadian guitarist and singer Chris Antonik is a more than solid effort of uptown contemporary original blues.

Recorded at Bearly’s House of Blues in Halifax, Live In Halifax is varied, soulful, and the next best thing to being there at a 24th Street Wailers show. The great thing about this album is that it accurately captures all the energy and talent of the band, and the appreciation of the audience.

Quick Fix is a strong outing, especially as a debut album. This album features funky blues, Memphis style soul blues (with a pulse!), swing blues, piano boogie, and superior ensemble style playing. Production values are very good, and the sound quality is good as well. A strong album overall, there are several standout cuts here.
